Social Justice Standing Committee

The Social Justice Committee is a recognized standing committee of CSLIT dedicated to ensure responsible citizenship in TCDSB schools. Each Student Council or Student Leadership delegate of CSLIT is invited to be a member of this outstanding standing committee.  The Social Justice Committee is a chance for students to stand together in solidarity, and to have another opportunity to work together as a community.

This Standing Committee focuses on issues of Social Justice within the TCDSB schools.  It also works in partnership with the Canadian Catholic Organisation for Development and Peace. Such areas of focus include:

-Bottled Water Free Zones
-Socially Responsible Uniforms, Spirit Wear and Appropriate Dress Code
-Fair Trade Schools
-Environmental Stewardship
-Aboriginal Education

Throughout the school year, the standing committee will assist in running and organising events and campaigns, along with the student trustee, that will affect all 90 000 students within our board.
